As we navigate through the Coronavirus Pandemic, VI government is also raising awareness about the upcoming hurricane season.
Governor Albert Bryan Jr. has proclaimed May as ‘Hurricane Preparedness Month’ in the US Virgin Islands.
This week, May 3-9 is also Hurricane Preparedness Week in the Territory.
Of course, we all know the importance of being prepared after category five Hurricanes Maria and Irma slammed the islands in 2017.
This proclamation is all to raise awareness to ensure residents are prepared for any disaster.
Governor Bryan is encouraging individuals, families and area organizations and businesses to make emergency plans and put together emergency supply kits.
Hurricane season begins on June 1st.
