Summer internship program accepting applications from college/ grad students

College juniors, seniors and grad students you may want to listen to this.

A new summer internship program with the VI Department of Labor is now accepting applicants.

The “Labor Investing for Tomorrow” or LIFT summer internship program gives work experience to students in their chosen career field.

They can gain college credit, network and get hands on training.

Interns will be paid $12.00 based on the number of years in school.

They’ll work 35 hours a week for about 6 to 8 weeks.

According to the release from the VI Dept. of Labor, all LIFT interns will be required to participate in a special project, a mentorship initiative, and community service activities. Additionally, all participants in the programs are provided with Life Skills Management & Career Orientation Workshops, Workplace Preparation Skills, and Occupational Safety & Health Regulation (OSHA) training.

Eligibility criteria are as follows:

Interns must presently be a college junior, senior or a graduate student; must have a minimum GPA of 2.80 on a 4.00 scale; and must be between the ages of 18 – 25, inclusive.

Application deadline is March 22, 2019.

Interested juniors, seniors or graduate students must complete the LIFTapplication online on the department’s www.vidolviews.org. A completed application, transcripts and required essay should be submitted to liftvi@vidol.gov by March 22, 2019.
