Former President Bill Clinton and leaders from across the Caribbean are expected in St. Thomas to help with the ongoing recovery.
Those leaders are expected here Monday and Tuesday for the fourth meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative Action Network on Post-Disaster Recovery.
The purpose of the meeting is to come up with new ideas to move the recovery along and find ways to plan for the future.
On Wednesday a group from the Clinton Global Initiative and Bloomberg L.P. hosted a conference call to preview what’s to come.
In the call participants from the American Federation of Teachers, Love City Strong, CGI and Bloomberg highlighted the networking benefits of the meeting.
“There’s a small school of very generous donors and we are always looking for more people to add to that circle. This allows us to diversify the conversation and really bring in partners who are really interested in new and different programs. It allows us access to a broader array of partners,” Meaghan Enright, Executive Director at Love City Strong said.
In the phone call participants said new action plans would be coming out of the meeting next week.
USVI NEWS will be on the lookout for just what that plan will mean for the future of the US Virgin Islands.
USVI NEWS will be at the University of the Virgin Islands in St. Thomas for the meeting coverage next week.
