Harris Set to Conclude Campaign in Philadelphia on Eve of Election

PHILADELPHIA, PA — After multiple stops across Pennsylvania on Monday, the stage is set for Vice President Kamala Harris to conclude her campaign in Philadelphia.

A historic rise to the top of the ticket and a few months of campaigning later, all roads lead to Pennsylvania for Harris. The swing state is pivotal for her on Tuesday. Whoever wins the commonwealth and its 19 electoral votes- the most of all battleground states- has a good chance of winning the presidency.

Harris started the day with a voter canvassing event in Scranton, PA before heading to rallies in Allentown and Pittsburgh. Now she’ll be closing things out in Philadelphia, where reports suggest preparations have been underway since Thursday. Thousands of supporters lined the streets to hear from Harris.

“I think she’s a great advocate for women’s rights and she speaks volumes with being kind and just being a great role model for everyone,” said Suzanne Brady, a West Chester, PA Harris supporter.

“I feel like this is such an important election. I grew up in a household that always pushed the importance of voting and being involved in politics,” said Sophia Castiglioni, a first-time voter and Harris supporter who said women’s rights are top of mind heading into this election.

“Specifically in Pennsylvania, since it’s a swing state, it’s very important to vote in this state. And since we’re part of the younger generation, I think it’s important that we are the ones to really push it,” Katia Botelho, another Harris supporter.

Monday’s event includes appearances from celebrities like Oprah and live music from several artists including Lady Gaga, The Roots and others.

Former President Donald Trump kicked things off in North Carolina Monday before heading to Reading and Pittsburgh, PA in the afternoon and evening, respectively. He was in Lancaster, PA on Sunday, where he made one of his final pitches to voters about why he is best suited to fix the economy, lower prices and put the country back on the right track. Trump is closing out his campaign in Grand Rapids, Mich. Monday evening.
