The first ever Christmas Cultural Fair sponsored by the Department of Tourism took over Emancipation Garden in St. Thomas Wednesday.
The event featured traditional Christmas eats and drinks, like coquito. It also showcased local arts and crafts. Luana Wheatley with the Department of Tourism said it gave shoppers a taste of Virgin Islands Culture.
“We want to do that as much as possible. Bring the local culture into our presentation into our strategy its just a great opportunity to expose everybody to what we have to offer,” Wheatley added.
The Department of Tourism hopes the tradition continues for many years to come.
