Liberty Foundation Awards $38K to USVI Nonprofits

The Liberty Foundation is continuing its mission to strengthen communities across the territory, awarding more than $38,000 in donations, grants, and sponsorships to 14 nonprofit organizations in 2025.

Since 2020, Liberty VI and its foundation have contributed approximately $454,000 to 30 local nonprofits—supporting programs that benefit children, youth, and adults throughout the U.S. Virgin Islands.

“Number one, it’s the right thing to do as a corporate citizen, to make sure we impact our community,” said General Manager Catherine Kling.

The funding helps sustain critical services and expand programs that directly improve quality of life. In addition to financial contributions, the foundation promotes employee volunteerism as part of its broader community engagement efforts.

In 2025 alone, 18 Liberty VI employees logged more than 70 hours of volunteer service across four nonprofit organizations.

“That is a lot—(laughs)—that is a lot, and we have seen many different programs benefitting from it,” Kling said. “Every year we try to work with different entities to put them on the map, support them, to allow them to expand their programs, so it’s been absolutely amazing.”

The foundation focuses on four key areas: social issues, education, the environment, and children—areas leaders say are essential to the territory’s long-term development.

Established in 2017, the Liberty Foundation provides financial support, volunteer assistance, and strategic partnerships that enable nonprofits to deliver impactful, life-changing services. The organization says its ongoing investments reflect a deep commitment to building stronger, more resilient communities in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
