A woman in St. Thomas says she was forced into her car and made to drive a man to the bank to withdraw money against her will.
Police said it happened on Friday March 29thin Charlotte Amalie when a 61-year-old woman said that a family member tried to extort money from her.
The man was 31-year-old Patrick Webster.
The woman said he forced her into her vehicle and to drive to the bank so she could withdraw money to give to him.
She told police she went with Webster because she feared he would harm her if she didn’t.
She said he had assaulted her in the past.
Webster was apprehended near the Banco Popular near Fort Mylner.
He was arrested and charged with Kidnapping for Extortion/DV, False Imprisonment/DV, Attempted Extortion and Disturbance of the Peace.
No bail was set as per the DV statue and he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections Detention Center.
No photo was taken , Patrick Webster refused to cooperate with the booking procedure.
This case is presently under investigation by the Domestic Violence Unit.
