When a car was pulled over for a routine traffic stop in St. Croix, Virgin Islands Police officers found themselves in a chase, ending with finding 32 live 9mm rounds and large amount of marijuana in a St. Croix home.
According to the report from the Virgin Islands Police Department, on January 23 around 6:00 PM, officers were doing a routine traffic stop of a vehicle with no license plate displayed in the Sion Farm area.
The driver, Kimani A. Chiverton sped off after cops asked him for his registration.
The officers followed the car to the driveway in a residential area.
Once the car stopped, officers saw Gyasi Chiverton leave the car and take of running.
Kimani Chiverton was immediately detained.
Gyasi Chiverton ran into the home and officers were able to get a search warrant.
Once inside, officers found 32 live 9mm rounds and a large amount of marijuana in a room that was later identified as Gyasi Chiverton’s room.
Both Brothers were arrested.
24-year-old Kimani A. Chiverton was placed under arrest for Interfering with an officer discharging his duty bail was set at $1000.
The investigation revealed that 21-year-old Gyasi Chiverton is not authorized to possess or sell ammunition in the territory .
Gysai was placed under arrest for Unauthorized Possession or sale of ammunition, Possession of a Uncontrolled Substance with Intent to Distribute, the bail amount of $10,000.00.
Both Chiverton Brothers were remanded to the Golden Grove Detention Correctional Facility.
